KBO Suspends 2 Players over Sexual Assault Allegations

The Korea Baseball Organisation (KBO) in charge of the Baseball League has suspended two of its players its players Cho Sang-woo and Park Dong-won over sexual assault allegations from a woman who claimed she was assaulted by the players at the Incheon Hotel.
Pitcher Cho Sang-Woo and Catcher Park-Dong who are teammates playing for the Seoul-based “Nexen Heroes” were suspended and their payments withheld by the KBO.

The Nexen Heroes were visiting Incheon for a three-game road series against the SK Wyverns on Tuesday when they allegedly assaulted the woman(names withheld) in the hotel.
The players initially denied the allegations, but the Heroes managers who were so eager to cooperate with the Police immediately took the players names off their active roster, citing the KBO’s rules, Article 152, clause 5 which states that the KBO commissioner may suspend the players who have allegedly engaged in illegal acts or cause injury to dignity, and may be unable to play during an investigation into their alleged acts.
The KBO said it would convene within its committee to decide whether to reinstate Cho and Park or to extend their suspension and that this decision will be dependent on the results of the police investigations.
